Warehouse Selector

Diane enjoys the hustle and bustle of her part time job with Aldi. "I think if I was stuck at a desk all day I'd go mad."

Her role is to 'pick' products from the warehouse stock and place them in the correct lanes ready for the drivers to deliver. Each Warehouse Selector has a target pick rate they have to reach every shift – and each shift is broken up into two or three 'waves' with breaks in between each 'wave'.

Diane usually picks 400 cases an hour – that's an incredible 2000 per shift. "It's not all work, work, work – even in the middle of all this activity, we have little competitions to see who can pick fastest. And the sooner you're finished, the sooner you'll be in the back garden in the sun.

And although the work is non-stop, everyone has a good laugh and gets on really well."

Proof of this is Diane's annual Halloween party – all the team bring their kids along every year.

Also outside work-hours, and thanks to finding a role that suits her busy schedule, Diane has had time to enrol on an online beauty course.

"This job keeps you fit too... I love going to the gym, but I feel like I've done a session before I leave work!"
